Harry Potter Studios
On Thursday last week we had a school trip to the Studios where they filmed Harry Potter.
This day consisted of walking around the studios, a lesson and of course... trying the weird food they have in the film. And we cannot forget about all the photo taking there had to be done.
When we arrived we got handed a passport. We had to go around the studios and find all of the different places to collect a stamp. Throughout the day we were told how they created parts of the film, and where exactly it was filmed.
In the lesson we learned all about the marketing of the film and also how the costumes where made and why. I found the lesson very interesting, because we discussed who the films are aimed at. The teacher was saying how the majority if films are aimed at men at the age of 18 - 30 ish. They also spoke about how much the costumes cost to create, which was around the 4 thousand pound mark to make a small costume of a ware wolf, which only consisted hair strands.
When we were walking around, we got to one room which had the main castle in it. This was mind-blowing because you would think in the film that they were actually at a castle. But its only a model castle... which means the amount of editing they would have had to do is amazing. This is what it looked like...

After the day, it made me realise that every little detail in films are planned to the T. In my opening of a film i am going to really consider the types of outfits and the location to fit it to my genre.
