Mise en scene

We learned in lesson about Mise en scene. This translates to 'what is in the frame'. This basically means what you can see in the frame of the camera is the only thing you can see. Everything we see on the screen has deliberately been put there fro the viewers to see. For example:

• Setting and props
• Costume, hair and make-up 
• Facial expression and body language
• Lighting and colour 
• Position of characters and objects within a frame.
