Lighting and colour
The lighting and colour can play a very important role in the movies.
Colour:
This can give off the mood of the film or the emotions that are being felt in the scene. For example:
Red - can be used for anger or danger, but it can also symbolise love.
Yellow - could give a feeling of happiness.
Purple - could give a magical feeling to the scene.
Blue - could represent a feeling of sadness or loneliness
As i'm doing a spy/thriller opening i can use the colours of blue and red.
Lightening:
This can represent the types of place that they are trying to portray in the scene. For example;
If the light is more dark then they could be giving a feeling of late night in a deserted place
But if it is really light could mean that you're in a busy place in the middle of the day.
I will be using both types of lighting in my film opening as i want to have happy parts but also have mysterious parts.
