I Origins review
In this movie there are three main characters: Astrid
Berge-Frisbey (Sofi), Michael Pitts (Ian) and Brit Marling (Karen). The movie
is mainly focused on two characters that fall in love but have different perceptions
of the world. Ian is a scientist who’s goal in life is to prove that there is
no spiritual side to the world and there is no greater power (God). He tries to
prove this by studying the creation and evolution of the eye. On the other
hand, Sofi believes in the spiritual side of the world. Two major things happen
in the film, which leads Ian to try and explain what and why it happens. The
movie is based on Ian’s journey to discover the truth about the world.
The good thing about the movie is what he discovers at the
end of his journey of searching for an answer. The bad things about the film
are that it has a really slow and complicated beginning and if you don’t follow
the film you won’t understand the rest. If you want to watch a movie that doesn’t
have a lot of action then I suggest this one. I also like the story line of the movie as it is set well, and i would like use some of the settings in my media studies class. I would give the acting and
overall movie 4/5 stars.
